At the heart of the Y Glyn four-acre estate, the Writer's Cottage is a 17th-century stone house that holds a group of up to eight with warmth and ease. Three characterful bedrooms, a snug, a wood-burning fire, and a kitchen and outdoor dining space built for gathering — this is a house made for making memories with the people you love. There's room to roam, with slow walks across nearby beaches and through the sand dunes, long evenings, and a hot tub for the kind of laughter that lingers under a wide, star-filled sky. Named for the Welsh poet Robert Hughes, it sits close to Llanddwyn, the coast path, and the mountains of Eryri. A house for gathering, for staying up later than you meant to, and for the quiet pleasure of being together.

The Writer's Cottage in Y Glyn sits at the cultural heart of Anglesey, just outside Llangefni.

This allows sufficient time for the fire to cool and ensures our team can clean and prepare the property safely for the next guests. We kindly ask that you enjoy the fireplace during your stay, but refrain from lighting it on your final morning. Please avoid using fireworks during your stay. Our property is nestled in a peaceful rural setting, surrounded by wildlife, farm animals, and neighbouring homes. Fireworks can cause distress to animals and disrupt the calm of the countryside.
